At Rosary Care Center, caring for others extends far beyond the walls of this beautiful skilled nursing community. For the third year, Stas Krukowski, Enrichment Community Director will lead the charge to honor those who are affected by Alzheimer’s Disease and to raise funds to support the Alzheimer’s Association. Each year, Rosary Care Center creates a team, the “Rosary Care Menagerie” that consists of not only staff, family and friends but also animals from Paws and Hooves. Paws and Hooves offers animal therapy to schools, nursing homes and care facilities using dogs and miniature horses. Everyone will be putting their best foot, paw and hoove forward on Oct 17th, 2026, at Glass City Metro Parks in Toledo, Ohio.

In support of the Alzheimer’s Association, not only has Rosary Care Center committed to participating in the Walk in October, but they will also host a Car Show and feature a Cookbook to raise funds and awareness of this disease that impacts nearly every person directly or indirectly.

Everyone Loves a CAR-nival

Their 3rd Annual CAR-nival, scheduled for Sept 12, 2026, takes place in the Franciscan Center Parking Lot on the campus of Rosary Care Center. This event is free and open to the public. The CAR-nival will feature a variety of classic cars along with a silent auction, a DJ, bake sale, 50/50 raffles, food and of course their ‘friends’ from Paws and Hooves.

Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy the cars, connect with members of their community, and support an important cause at the same time.

Sharing Recipes, Memories, and Love

New this year, Stas has been soliciting recipes from facility staff, family members, residents and friends since May, 2026. He has collected close to 50 delicious recipes. More than a collection of ingredients, the cookbook will be a collection of memories, traditions and stories that can be shared from one generation to the next.

The finished cookbook will be available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association. Stas has set a goal of selling 250 cookbooks!

One Community Having an Impact

Twice a year, Stas also collaborates with the Alzheimer’s Association of Northwest Ohio Chapter and conducts Lunch and Learn sessions to increase the understanding of Alzheimer’s and Dementia. Rosary Care Center understands firsthand the importance of compassionate care and support for individuals and their families. Supporting the Alzheimer’s Association is one way they help extend that mission into the broader community.
