Your Story Matters: Don’s Journey Back to Independence
After a setback due to his Parkinson’s disease, Don was admitted to one of our partner facilities in Ashland, Missouri.
When he first came to us he assumed that he would be wheelchair bound from that point on. He had worked with therapy before at a different skilled nursing facility but was not progressing consistently and they had recommended discharge.
He started working with our therapy team on his balance, endurance, and his ADLs. Right away he and his family were impressed with Concept Rehab’s therapy team and their focus on getting to know him as an individual during his treatment sessions. His progress with our therapy team has far exceeded the progress he had with his prior rehab experiences. Right now, he is standby assist for his ADLs and walking with his walker, which is a feat he didn’t think he would achieve. He is still working hard with therapy every day and loves walking outside with us. He sends his wife updates on his achievements in therapy after each session.

We are so proud of Don, and our therapy team in Missouri!
